Colored Contacts - All Of Them

What Types of Colored Contacts Are There?

You might have seen someone with really clear color in their eyes, so clear that it is almost hypnotic. Some people have that naturally, but some people actually wear color tinted contact lenses to improve the color of their eyes. This can be done with at the same time removing the need for eye glasses, but they can also be worn for cosmetic purposes alone. Although these types of contacts aren't only there to improve ones visual appearance, they can help with specific situations and performance in sports by improving a specific quality in ones vision.

A very common type of tinted contacts are the yellow contact lenses for tennis or for golf. At the beginning you could see tour professionals wearing yellow sunglasses that were there to help them see the smallest differences in the contrast, making it easier for the tennis player to see the small ball that was racing towards him at high speeds, or make it easier for the golfer to see their ball flying in the air and spot the landing area, but also impvote the green reading skills. Meaning that they could see the breaks in the surface of the green improving their putting abilities. Yellow contacts have become a very popular trend amongst party people, as they make your eyes look kind of freaky. Even so they still have their place in improving sports performance through eyesight.

Green contacts are usually worn by people who either want to have green eyes, or who have a green-grayish eye color, and want to enhance the green in their eyes. Someone very popular who has been seen with green contact lenses in the media is Paris Hilton, who is often seen on the red carpet with fabulous shining green eyes. Just like most of us, the pigmentation in her iris isn't probably as bright as she would like it to be, and she is using a small trick to make her gaze just a little bit more stunning. Even so this color is not only used by people who want natural eyes, but also for the completely opposite. Halloween costumes are acommon use for bright neon green contacts, and there are even models that glow in the dark, creating a cat eye effect.

Commonly used costume contacts

If you have been to a halloween party you most likely know about all the colors and patterns that you can get in contacts. There are contacts with special effects and there are just simple single colored lenses that have been specially designed for the purpose of spicing up a costume. These do magics because they show how passionate the wearer is about their costume, since they have been spending extra time to focus on the little details. Wearing red contact lenses for example with your vampire costume are definitely a way to make people extra spooked when they see you. There are many different types of these contacts, and you can find them in plain red, which will give your eyes quite an unnatural look, but also red colored contacts that have small black distortion in them, making the tone a bit more natural. You can also find them with a shade of black in the edges making it look like your natural eye color.

One color that you also see in vampire movies is the white eye. They are widely used in movies because of the freakish appearance that they give to the wearer. These white contact lenses are widely used by people who have a "gothic" style and are also wearing black leather and maybe even white make up to color the skin on their face as pale as possible. Even though as these people are usually linked to some religius minorities, these assumptions are usually false and it is common to see someone wearing white contacts just for the sake of the shocking people on the streets. Zombies and other undead usually have completely white eyes in the movies, and removing all the color from your eyes can give you a really cool appearance. Although I would keep in mind that your eyeball isn't completely white, and I would keep in mind that a white lens with red lines would give a more natural and credible appearance, mimicking the veins in your eyes, while a totally white contact would have to be large enough to cover a big part of the surface of your eyeball, to avoid having a clear line between the eye, and the colored contact lens.

Going with the complete opposite to white, black contact lenses are also used by people disguised as vampires or other undead creatures. With black contacts you usually should go with the larger models that cover the whole eye, creating an impression of black eyeballs or black sclera - which is the white part of your eyes. That way you won't end up diminishing the effect in dimmer lighting - no one will notice the difference whether your iris is black or brown when the room is dark, they will notice though if your sclera is black instead of white. To enhance the effect you should make sure that they surface of the lens is as glossy as possible instead of being matte. This will even more enhance the effect of an undead creature with slimy black eyes.

The best part with all these is that you can find cheap colored contacts online, and in most cases you won't even find then offline. Sure you can go to a costume store and have them order contacts for you, but most likely their selection is much smaller and more expensive than with an online store.
